Frequently Asked Questions about Lifegroups
What is a Lifegroup?
Lifegroups are an exciting way for you to meet and connect with others at Freedom Christian! By meeting in homes across the area, Lifegroups provide a fun-filled, relaxing environment for people to engage in meaningful relationships by doing life together. Lifegroups are focused on building relationships, growing together in your walk with God and praying for one another. They make a big church feel small!
When do Lifegroups meet?
Lifegroups meet at various times through out the week. When you click the “Join A Lifegroup” button you will see a list of groups and times that each group meets. After signing up you will be contacted by the Lifegroup leader, please feel free to ask the leader any questions you may have.
How are Lifegroups structured?
Life Groups are generally comprised of 10-20 people who meet weekly in homes all throughout the area. Groups are available for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity. To get started you will search for a group based on your stage of life (college, young married, moms, young families, Jr/Sr High students, men and women only groups, etc.). From there you can read the descriptions of the various groups to find a group that’s a good fit for you.
What is a Lifegroup gathering like?
Most groups have snacks or dinner each week so typically the group will begin by enjoying some good food. Then you would move into a time of discussing Gods word followed by a time of prayer. Groups also plan fun activities together such as Miniature Golf, Bowling, Sand Volleyball, and of course summer Beach trips!
What do the Lifegroups study?
Some Lifegroup discussions are centered on the current Sunday sermon at Freedom Christian, while others are based on approved curriculums, or book studies.
Are Lifegroups specific to campus?
Lifegroups are not organized by campus. Most groups have members from both campuses, so when searching keep this in mind.
How do I join a Lifegroup?
Joining a Lifegroup is simple and can be done online in about a minutes time.
1. CLICK: Start by clicking the “Join A Lifegroup” button in the above section.
2. FIND: Find a Lifegroup that best fits your stage of life and follow the sign up process.
3. CONNECT: Wait for the Lifegroup leader to contact you, then connect by attending a group gathering!
What if I don't connect with the Lifegroup I visit?
Our goal at Freedom Christian is to help you find meaningful relationships in which you can grow. We understand that it may take checking out two or three different groups to find the right fit. With that in mind, we encourage you to give each group a few weeks before trying a new one. It usually takes a few weeks for people to break the ice and begin connecting.

At the very heart of the meaning of Christmas is the fact that God gave His Son for the forgiveness of our sins and to secure for us a Forever Future with Him!

At Freedom, we are so very grateful for the life-changing message of Jesus that has so profoundly impacted our lives. It is the reason we financially support missionaries and ministry centers around the world, in our nation, in our state, and in our local community.

Randy and Mary Jane Merren sensed a call from the Lord in 2017 to begin a ministry to refugees in the greater Detroit area. Hope International Center became established and numbers of families (mostly from Syria and Afghanistan) have already been helped. The remaining electrical and construction work on the building is currently being completed and they are ready to move to the “next steps” in their efforts.

This year, we are hoping to fund two of their specific needs through our CHRISTMAS TREE OF HOPE giving.

The facilities will now be able to be used to provide short term housing for refugees. There is a crucial and continuing need to provide temporary housing for one to two weeks until more permanent housing is secured. This will cost approximately $5,000 to provide the food/utilities for this next year.

Randy and Mary Jane also have a dream of providing educational help to the children of refugees in order to help them succeed in the public school system. It will cost approximately $5,000 to purchase the curriculum and program which can then be used on a continuing basis.

As usual, different “Christmas Ornament Dollar Amounts” will be placed on the trees in the Campus Cafes and will be available for people to take to indicate the amount they plan to give. You can give as a part of an In Person offering at one of our campuses or online through our church website. When giving online, please be sure to select the “Tree of Hope” account in the drop down menu.

Please see the back of this to see the number of special projects that have already been completed in 2021 as a result of the generosity of so many. Let’s finish off the year strongly by meeting this $10,000 goal!
